Magnolia Galaxy is a stunning purple-pink flowered Magnolia which was bred in the US National Arboretum in the 1960s.
The tulip-shaped flowers emerge in early spring, they are bright purple-pink to red in colour and lightly scented. Magnolia Galaxy is a cross between Magnolia lilliflora and Magnolia sprengeri ‘Diva’, it is a seedling sister to ‘Spectrum’ and was bred by the US National Arboretum.
This medium sized tree produces a conical shaped crown which broadens as the tree matures. This prefers a fertile soil which is moist and well drained.
This fantastic Magnolia likes sheltered or partially shaded positions and is well suited to gardens or for sheltered pockets in parkland. The flowers on this tree will bring early spring cheer to your garden to break the gloom of the winter.
